I love food
There's nothing worse than hearing your friends utter the words "I'm on a diet." I believe that eating is the best thing ever. Cooking? Not so much, it's fun when it goes the way you want it to go, but when everything in the kitchen seems to go awry, it's the worst thing ever. Going out to eat with your (non dieting) friends is also fun, because you order what you want to eat, and then not feel guilty for not getting the salad you know you'd just pick at and not eat. I also believe that portion control and exercising is crucial to a food lover's lifestyle. I try to eat healthy. (I just love dessert and chocolate too much)
I used to be an avid steak eater. There was nothing better than getting a delicious juicy steak from Omaha steaks and having your parents grill it for you. It was my favorite food. I didn't eat healthy at all, barely any vegetables and fruits. I loved junk food and ice cream. Soda, slushies, milkshakes? YUM. Then everything changed the moment I finished the book "Skinny Bitch." If you truly love your junk food, steak grilling eating habits, don't read this book. It went into detail about what was in everything, and how they killed the animals I was eating. I stopped eating steak and drinking soda cold turkey. I also cut back junk food. That was in January of 2008. To this day I haven't had a single piece of red meat, pork, or ham since. When I first stopped, I refused to eat chicken or turkey, but I went away to college and it became too hard to be a healthy vegetarian, so I started eating chicken and turkey again to give my body less stress. I'm not sure if i'll ever quit white meat now, but I knew the health choices I was making by trying to eat better. I eat more vegetables and try to be health conscious when I cook for myself. I notice and pay attention to how I feel after I eat something that's not so healthy, and then I compare it to when I eat something that's healthy.
Anyway, that was just some background on my eating habits. As I mentioned before, I LOVE food. I'm always on the search for the next best thing to cook, or the best place to get a good meal. I love sushi and pizza. I truly believe that no one can cook vodka rig better than I can. I would die without coffee. I will never, ever give it up, or wine. My friends hate taking me out to eat because i'm so picky, and I make faces at the food they order. But the food that I love, I truly love and want to rave to the whole world about it. I don't believe in diets, like...ever. But that's just how I am. Enjoy, and I hope you'll one day love the foods that I rave about!
